What Does The Risk Analysis Involve?
The Injury Risk Analysis includes:
Pre-assessment Questionnaire
Video Assessment of the Athlete
Evaluation of the Assessment
Video review follow up with the athlete and/or parent
Prescriptive recommendations to assist in correcting movement deficiencies
Why Does A Healthy Athlete Need Injury Risk Analysis?
-
Some of us have never been taught how to perform basic movement skill patterns such as walking, running, sprinting, jumping, and landing. Poor patterning can set up and drive injury- this needs to be corrected.
-
Many athletes play through with minor injuries. In order to do this they create bad patterns of movement by what is called compensatory movement patterns. An example is playing with a jammed toe, which causes the athlete to run on the outside of the foot- which could possibly lead to a worse injury.
-
This is very prevalent in Junior High and High School athletes. Correction can be made with appropriate exercises and drills.
-
Even in young athletes, joints, tendons, and ligaments can become stiff and rigid. If this is not corrected, the chance of injury dramatically increases.
-
Where almost all of us have dominant limbs, balance between the two sides must be maintained in order to avoid injuries. This involves assessing both movement function and strength and power.
MOVEMENT IQ ASSESSMENT
Movement IQ
Good movement is not just physical; it's an amalgamation of intelligence, coordination, and efficiency. It's about seamlessly orchestrating multiple body parts to perform tasks effortlessly and accurately. While defining Movement IQ might be intricate, its absence is easily noticeable.
Movement IQ Assessment
At our core, we recognize that athleticism and fitness are intricately linked to how we move. Our Functional Movement IQ Screen delves into this interconnection, evaluating seven critical areas defining your movement patterns. This analysis doesn't just measure physical capabilities; it's a glimpse into your aptitude for specific sports, potentially foreseeing your success trajectory. Tailored for individuals aged 12 through adulthood, this screening identifies your Functional Movement IQ—highlighting the intelligence behind coordinated and effortless movement.
How The Assessment Works
Our movement IQ assessment has been developed for both children and adults. The evaluations are always developmentally appropriate. When purchased the movement IQ assessment is as follows:
Pre-assessment questionnaire
Video Analysis by our staff
Diagnosis of Developmental level
Follow up review and recommendations based on findings.
